About

“I focus on personal empowerment through improved communication.”

About Rebecca

I have been in this field for over 12 years and have worked in various settings, including early intervention, school, hospital, nursing home, and private practice. I realized that our quality of life is vastly improved when we are equipped with good speech and language skills.

Improving a person’s oral and written communication skills builds confidence and a renewed sense of joy in learning.

As a licensed speech-language pathologist and a certified dyslexia therapist, I will provide individualized therapy and effective problem-solving to ensure newly gained skills lead to lifelong success.

Building Bridges – I will give you the tools to engage with others confidently. While working with me, you will learn to expand your understanding and self-expression when connecting with others.

Transforming Challenges into Strengths – If you often understand or express yourself partially but not as thoroughly as you would like, I can help you. You will learn strategies that will increase your confidence to be a more effective communicator.

Improving Writing Skills – Do you find that spoken language is easy, but reading and writing are not? I can help you read and write using an explicit phonics-based system that is systematic and comprehensive. You will learn straightforward rules and strategies individualized to meet your needs.

A Commitment to Quality – I am committed to improving my skills and knowledge to serve you better. Knowledge is never stagnant. By widening my knowledge base, I am providing you with a higher quality service.

My goal as a speech-language therapist is to help you gain a sense of confidence when communicating. Through practical application and practice, you will learn the various language components – vocabulary, the order of words, and grammar.

Your comprehension will strengthen as you differentiate between the essential pieces of information and the details.

“I realized that communicating effectively was essential to personal and professional success throughout a person’s life. With that realization also came the desire to help others achieve this skill.”

My Educational Background

I received my Masters of Art  Degree In Communication Disorders and Speech-Language Pathology from Montclair StateUniversity.

Licensed by the State of New Jersey, I am certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

I furthered my training by completing a two-year master’s level course at Fairleigh Dickinson University to become a dyslexia therapist and am certified by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA).

When I’m not working. . .

I love recreating dishes from other cultures. Happily, my friends and family are always willing participants when tasting my new recipes.

Taking nature walks is another favorite pastime. I find it magical to witness the changing colors of the sky and to feel the energy of trees and the earth.
